Normally, a magician must weave all the threads of a spell and then cast the spell in the next round or lose the threads. The Maintain Spell Threads knack enables a magician to hold spell threads in a spell matrix until he is ready to cast the spell.

 

For each round a magician holds a spell threads using this knack, he takes a number of Strain Points equal to the number of threads he is holding.

 

The Maintain Spell Threads knack is most often used when a magician wants to hold off casting a low thread number spell for only one or two rounds. Wizards generally use this knack only unitl they learn the Hold Thread talent.
